So… had a long conversation with my g-baby boy today (5 yrs old). We actually have pretty deep conversations for Nana and g-baby. Anyhooo… he asked why Russia was going to war, and why did “we” NEED to go to war also?!?

Wow! So… Nana grabbed some items for a geographic object lesson. We, US, was over here. They * Russia/Ukraine…(no, not MY craine… but the country called UKRAINE – a tough one)* were waaaaaaaaaaaay over here. And NATO (somewhat friends) are in between with whom we have an agreement. But Russia AND Ukraine are NOT in that agreement with NATO so we do NOT have ANY MORAL / LEGAL / ETHICAL (using age 5 appropriate words) agreement or reason to send our “Army” people to go and help.

THEN… he asked the question: “do ‘WE’ like Russia? G-baby got his first official lesson in why Marxism/ Communism is NEVER good. When I finished, g-baby said, “I’m hiding ALL my money.” Lesson learned

(Not sure how this will go over with g-baby’s Democrat dad… nor do I care!)

When I was a kid, Sundays were always hectic and busy. It actually started Saturday evening with the kids taking baths, mama getting everything ready for dinner after church, maybe a TV show, if a certain member of my fam still lived with us – lots of fights. Then Sunday… get up… get dressed… brush your teeth… find your bible… hurry up… cram 5 people in a tiny VW beetle (before if was cute) and off we went to church.

When we got home – YUMMMMM!!! – filled the air! Mama always had something absolutely tasty for us to eat. ALWAYS! Daddy was a butcher and was able to provide a decent cut of meat that mama turned into absolute magic. Comfort food is what it’s called now. But it’s food that reminds you of mama.

And mama’s food always reminds us of her mother’s food – Gramdma Ethel Mae. Our summers, when we were young, were spent with our grandparents in Florida. A trip that ALWAYS brought a heightened anticipation that almost eclipsed Santa. WE LOVED. OUR. GRANDS!!! – Fred and Mary, & Joe and Ethel.

Fred and Mary, our paternal grands, were warm and cuddly and accepting and teddy bears and all things love! My sister and I can still remember the feeling of rounding the last curve in the road before their tiny country store came into view, and our hearts about burst. The tiny VW literally couldn’t go fast enough. When daddy parked the VW in their drive and Papa and Grandma came out – it was like God opened heaven to us. We were HOME!

Joe and Ethel, our maternal grands, while very nice and we knew they loved us, they were not that warm…. HOWEVER… Papa Joe ALWAYS took us on tractor rides that we LOVED! Ethel… THE FOOD!!! Even as kids – HAVE MERCY – we knew ETHEL’S FOOD was heaven.

Why did I go back 100 years? Because no matter how I feel, no matter what happens, no matter what’s in the freezer, Sunday still demands a “Sunday Dinner.” So, today I made good ole Mac ‘n cheese, fordhook lima beans, fried okra. Sunday demands dinner.

My sweet mother, March 5, 2019, suffered a big stroke. She, the intelligent/determined 80 year old she is, drove her 40 year old, refurbished/restored/stick shift MGB to her 3rd career job after stopping at a fast-food drive-thru to get a hamburger. A fellow worker recognized the signs of her stroke, called 911 and my sister, and mama was off to our big ER. She never lost consciousness but was obviously disoriented and confused. Fast-forward MANY hours… ALLLL the tests completed… now the wait. Mama is still conscious and talking, answering questions, albiet slowly. A “team ” of five doctors were assigned to her and they came to consult with the family. In the first consult, one doctor, young and very short – not that that matters… just a memory etched during a trauma – made a comment I’m sure HE thought would be a comfort, but fell SERIOUSLY off target: “She should be dead.”

Who says that to family members whose parent is teetering? Who says that – NOT a doctor. But this one did. But he was wrong!

Fast-forward…

Yesterday, I took mama to her yearly neurological check up appointment, and afterwards we went to our fav restaurant and she ordered her fav shrimp and grits and fried oysters. It’s been VERY close to 3 years since “SHE SHOULD BE DEAD,” and it’s been an absolute joy to enjoy mama and prove that doctor wrong. She SHOULD be and IS alive! We will continue to enjoy every single one of these moments with our precious mama. She is miracle and we love her!

Or president’s 2 very public foreign policy failures in 9 months begs all of us to closely examine his competency. Here are two items (among many others) joe and our our military leaders are focusing on: “…designing body armor that properly fits maternity flight suits, updating requirements for hairstyles.” Is that REALLY important? Did that help in the Afghanistan pull-out debacle? Has it helped with ANYTHING??? Gender transitioning. Maternity flight suits. Updating hairstyles.

Take a guess if China, Russia, North Korea, or even Israel are updating their military the same way. I think we know that answer.

Here is our Army’s mission statement: “To deploy, fight, and win our Nation’s wars by providing ready, prompt, and sustained land dominance by Army forces across the full spectrum of conflict as part of the Joint Force.” Where in that mission statement is a need for a change to hairstyles? Why do hairstyles matter? How much of a distraction and confusion is that for the young men and women who have enlisted to protect our country?

As we’re watching Russia war with Ukraine can you see a need for updated hairstyles or maternity flight-suites? War is hell. Just turn on a news channel and watch the Ukrainians cram-rush the train as they try to leave their home. As they try to clean up broken glass from the percusion of the bombs nearby. As they cry over dead bodies. As you watch a tank intentionally veer left and run over and crush a car driving in the oncoming lane.

I’m not saying our troops should be there or anywhere. I’m just wondering if for the first year of joe’s reign of power the focus of the Joint Chief’s of Staff focus has been so diverted to his leftist / climate agenda they forgot their 200 year old mission statement thereby weakening their resolve and focus? All I know is what I’ve seen, read, watched, heard directly from significant people in Europe effected by the war in Ukraine. joe is an utter failure and he makes America look like a traitor to ALL our friends.

Until you restart production and distribution of our own gas you are bold face lying to the world that you are exacting the maximum sanctions possible on Putin, but more importantly you are lying to the citizens that pay your salary through their hard-earned inflated taxes.

What if???…Ole joe took our oil drilling capabilities back to the day before his inauguration, without his regulations, resume the work on the Keystone pipeline, and America shows Europe and the world they don’t need Russia’s gas? No, it wouldn’t happen overnight, but our people would get back their good paying jobs, WE would supply our own oil/gas, and the prices go down. Wouldn’t THAT be the BIGGEST sanction ever?

Isn’t it sad knowing we have a “president” who would rather start world war 3 than THAT!

In the press conference today I heard too many times how the President will be taking every measure possible to mitigate the anticipated rise in energy costs for the American people. Yet in the description of these measures not one word was mentioned about dropping the January 24, 2021 regulations, ban on federal land drilling, opening the Keystone pipeline and resuming what was – the day before – America’s energy independence from the world. So, Ms Psaki, once again you continue, in tandem, with Ole joe to blatantly lie to every single American AND the world.

Please STOP trying to appease us by telling us “it is our duty.” It’s NOT! joe FORCED every economic hardship we are experiencing on us by design. Our lack of border here is a bold demonstration that joe’s rhetoric about “preserving Ukraine’s sovereign border” is BS. If he believed that 2+million illegal aliens + their drugs + only God knows how many “gotaways” wouldn’t have WALKED over our southern border in 1 year.

The thing about lies in the age of today’s media – you can’t hide any of it.
