It seems King Arthur Baking Company hates NON “POC” – PERSONS OF COLOR. They are hosting a baking competition that excludes NON-Persons of color… aka.. whites. Did Ole Whitey DO anything against King Arthur Baking Company? No! It’s just that they’re WHITE. Probably like most of the people who work for them. Will they have an ALL White baking competition? I would bet my left leg they won’t.
If you know me, you know I LOVE to bake bread. I purchase all my flour, self-rising, all purpose, and bread flour from King Arthur Baking Company. I also purchase baking implements from them. NOT ANYMORE! I have gone full “Bud Lite” on them. Here is my letter informing them:
Dear King Arthur Baking Company,
“Everyone deserves an equitable seat at the baking table.” That’s what you say in the last line of your DEI segment on your website. I have to tell you that is NOT true. ANY TIME you omit ANY ONE SEGMENT of society from anything you are NOT for DEI.
Your recent decision to omit ALL persons who are not “POC” [People of Color] crawled all over me as indignantly egregious. AND you did it with such unabashed fervor it nearly took my breath away. I have paid the extra money to purchase solely your products because of their superiority – NOT because of any stance you personally feel. How you feel about any person should NEVER be brought into consideration when one contemplates a sack of flour. It does now. I can no longer support a company that obviously HATES NON People of Color – as if ANYONE has a choice of their ethnicity. PERIOD! FULL STOP!
Until you publish a letter of apology for your hatred, I will NEVER purchase from your company again.
