As infuriating and stupid and dangerous and categorically unfair as the school loan forgiveness is it’s a 100% political smokescreen. Oddly, even Nancy spoke the truth last year when she stated the President does NOT have the authority nor the power to forgive debt – THAT takes an act of congress. Pinocchio joe said the same during his basement campaign – he [president] doesn’t have the authority.
So why is joe doing it? Optics. Mid-term elections are in 75 days with democrats running scared. Making the announcement that he will “forgive” at least $10,000 of obviously able-minded, young people to the tune of $HALF TRILLION DOLLARS$ added to our already recession riddled inflation bogged economy was done solely to buy votes. He knows – emphatically – this declaration WILL be challenged all the way to the Supreme Court where most likely it will be overtured. However that can’t happen until well after November 2022 elections – AND when it IS overtured – ole joe will simply blame it on the “illegitimate” Trump appointed Justices. But the damage of his blatant deception has been done.
Don’t be fooled. The student loans are NOT being “FORGIVEN.” Money owed is always owed until it has been paid back – by someone. So the “FORGIVEN” money may not be paid back by the persons who willingly signed on the dotted line, promising THEY would pay it back, it will be paid back by taxpayers – you and me.
If our recession riddled inflation bogged economy got this way through reckless spending how can the $HALF TRILLION DOLLAR$ coupled with the $HALF TRILLION DOLLAR$ of the “recession [busting] reduction bill” affect our already fragile economy?
Remember when we hid under our desks in fear of the nuke bomb because the communists were invading America? How in God’s name did people willingly elect the new socialist communist party now in power?
